Transport
From Swanley there is a regular bus and train service to and from London and Kent towns.

Your classes
You will work closely with the class teachers for years 7 – 11 and in the Primary Schools. Sometimes they may wish you to support them in the classroom but mostly you will take out small groups of students for oral practice. You should discuss what each teacher is going to do at least the day before, so that you have time to prepare materials (games etc.).

Training and observation
You will attend 2 training days run by the Local Education Authority, the first one in October, just after you arrive. Your first 2 weeks will be spent observing the classes you will be working with.

Further contact
Please provide written confirmation that you are going to accept the job. We break up for the summer holidays on 20 July and term starts on ** September. If I have not spoken to you by phone before you receive this letter please try to phone me at home during the evening. My home address is **********************************************************************************
I shall be away on holiday from *****************.

The area
The school is in the north west of Kent, very close to Junction 3 of the M25 motorway. There are plenty of places of interest nearby such as Leeds Castle, Rochester and Chatham Dockyards, as well as all the attractions of London.

Dress code
The pupils wear a uniform and there is a dress code for staff but assistants can wear anything within reason, including trousers for women. I suggest something casual, but smart.

Arrival arrangements
Please give me details of your travel arrangements when you know them.  If you wish to use public transport you can travel by train from London to Swanley or to Ebbsfleet and someone will meet you.

Once you have accepted the position, I will send you more information about the materials we would like to bring and the books the students use.
I am really looking forward to working with you and I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours sincerely
