Affectation !!
Bon, j'ai une petite nouvelle à vous annoncer!
Vendredi 6 juin,
j'ai reçu un mail intitulé "language assistant 2008-2009" ... C'est
même pas moi qui l'ai ouvert en premier, j'ai même cru que c'était un
spam de facebook... Bref, comme c'est écrit dans le titre: j'ai reçu mon affectation!!! Super!!! Moi qui croyait devoir attendre la fin juin, voire l'été!...
J'ai
donc été pris dans le Kent, région de mon premier choix... que demander
de mieux, à part que la vile est à 1/2h de Londres... zut alors!!

Contrairement à beaucoup, j'ai reçu beaucoup d'information à propos du poste que l'on me propose, à noter aussi que j'ai reçu mon affectation dans les premiers, c'est une chance je trouve!

Our school
We have
approximately 650 students and we are a secondary comprehensive
school. The students are aged between 11 and 16 and are mixed sex. We
are located in Swanley, near to London.
It
covers the full ability range of students and you will work with
mainly a Year 10 year group. All pupils learn French and about half
learn German for the first 3 years (Years 7, 8 and 9). Students can
choose to continue to take one language in years 10 and 11 up to GCSE
level. and. There are no A level groups in French orGerman in the
Sixth Form (years 12 and 13) in the coming year.
Term dates
The term
dates for our school are as follows: -
Winter
Term:01 September to 19 December, half term is 27 - 31 to ** October.
Spring
Term: 5 January to 03 April, half term is 16 to 20 February
Summer
Term: 20 April to 31 May (end of appointment)
Accommodation
We are
not able to provide details of accommodation at the moment but will
find a family in the local area where you can stay if this is what
you would want.
Transport
From
Swanley there is a regular bus and train service to and from London
and Kent towns.
Your classes
You will
work closely with the class teachers for years 7 – 11 and in the
Primary Schools. Sometimes they may wish you to support them in the
classroom but mostly you will take out small groups of students for
oral practice. You should discuss what each teacher is going to do at
least the day before, so that you have time to prepare materials
(games etc.).
Training and observation
You will
attend 2 training days run by the Local Education Authority, the
first one in October, just after you arrive. Your first 2 weeks will
be spent observing the classes you will be working with.

We break up for the summer holidays on 20 July and term starts on **

The area
The
school is in the north west of Kent, very close to Junction 3 of the
M25 motorway. There are plenty of places of interest nearby such as
Leeds Castle, Rochester and Chatham Dockyards, as well as all the
attractions of London.
Dress code
The
pupils wear a uniform and there is a dress code for staff but
assistants can wear anything within reason, including trousers for
women. I suggest something casual, but smart.
Arrival arrangements
Please
give me details of your travel arrangements when you know them. If
you wish to use public transport you can travel by train from London
to Swanley or to Ebbsfleet and someone will meet you.
Once you
have accepted the position, I will send you more information about
the materials we would like to bring and the books the students use.

informations personnelles et les salaires, je préfère que vous me le
demandiez si ça vous intéresse, je suis sans doute un peu parano, mais
je crains la curiosité malsaine..
Après
concertation, je ne traduirai que les parties de la lettre que vous ne
comprendrez pas, j'ai déjà passé les épreuves de Version et Thème,
étant donné que ce n'est jamais un grand succès, je m'abstiendrai!!
N'hésitez pas à me demander si besoin via la partie "commentaire".
Voilà où c'est par rapport à Londres... Difficilement plus près dans le Kent...
Et voilà le trajet de Swanley à Rennes, ma petite commune...je sais pas si c'est le chemin que je vais emprunter, enfin je ne pense pas, mais ça donne une idée...
